Dfx Engineer

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA

This role focuses on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) for Meta's hardware devices, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost-efficiency. While the role involves integrating and optimizing workflows using AI tools and developing AI skills, its core function is not building AI models or systems, but rather applying AI as a tool to improve manufacturing processes for consumer hardware.

What you'd actually do

  1. defining and enforcing manufacturing process best practices as they relate to product design
  2. partner with cross-functional Engineering teams to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by applying DFX principles and establishing robust Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines
  3. develop manufacturing assembly processes, fixtures, and equipment requirements, and will drive line and fixture qualifications to meet Meta's rigorous standards
  4. engineer new or improved manufacturing processes through the application of both theoretical and practical engineering knowledge, with the goal of enhancing product quality and production efficiency
  5. serve as the primary technical resource for all factory-related operational issues concerning final assembly processes, from pre-production builds through mass production and end-of-life
