Digital Adoption Solution Engineer/technical Consultant

State Farm State Farm · Insurance · Richardson, TX +3 · Human Resources, Training, and Business Support

This role focuses on maintaining and improving web-based digital adoption experiences (DAP) and related web integrations, including artificial intelligence (AI). The engineer will troubleshoot issues, build and update content, and partner with product and engineering teams on changes. The role involves hands-on debugging, writing JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and delivering improvements without owning full platform architecture. Success involves resolving DAP/web issues, ensuring stability through web releases, and translating adoption metrics into actionable improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve common to moderately complex issues impacting web experiences and DAP implementations (e.g., content not displaying, selectors breaking, SPA navigation changes, Content Security Policy/Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CSP/CORS)-related issues, performance impacts).
  2. Build and maintain web/DAP experiences (e.g., guides, walkthroughs, in-app messages) with attention to UI/UX and customer experience.
  3. Make lightweight front-end updates using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and integrate with APIs when needed.
  4. Partner with engineering teams to escalate and resolve deeper systemic issues (e.g., major SPA refactors, complex authentication/SSO edge cases, security policy changes).
  5. Track adoption and behavior metrics and share insights (what’s working, what’s broken, what to improve).

Skills

Required

  • 2–5 years experience in a web, implementation, or technical support/operations role for web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including debugging and making targeted code changes.
  • Capable of troubleshooting web issues using dev tools (selectors/DOM changes, SPA route changes, network requests, cookies/session behavior).
  • Basic familiarity with web delivery/infrastructure concepts: DNS, TLS/HTTPS, caching, performance/load time basics.
  • Familiarity with how web apps integrate with SaaS and enterprise systems (e.g., APIs, auth/session concepts, SSO awareness).
  • Strong communication skills: able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and coordinate across teams.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with a DAP tool (e.g., WalkMe, Whatfix, Pendo, Appcues).
  • Familiarity with a modern JS framework (React/Angular/Vue) at the “can navigate and debug” level.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar languages, such as Ruby or PHP
  • Exposure to CSP/CORS troubleshooting, basic logging/monitoring, or tag/analytics tools.
  • Accessibility experience beyond the basics (testing tools, remediation work).
