Director role within Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) focused on the Merchant Travel & Entertainment segment in North America. Responsibilities include selling consulting engagements, delivering projects, developing initiatives for sustainable growth, and building scalable solutions and frameworks for clients. Requires strong client relationship management, strategic insight, and analytical skills within the payments and travel industries.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage a sales pipeline, within an identified list of client targets, and sell consulting work against a revenue target of 5M per year.
  2. Build strong client relationships to ensure awareness of our offerings, a clear understanding of how we support their strategic objectives, and advocacy for our work.
  3. Proactively engage in regular strategic & planning discussions with Account Executives, other VCA delivery teams and Client Marketing.
  4. Lead consulting initiatives and be the main source of strategic insight and direction to the team.
  5. Produce insights, analyses, and recommendations to improve client performance, boost growth, drive understanding of client issues and provide strategic guidance for client priorities.
  6. Build new scalable solutions, toolkits, best practice documents and consulting frameworks that will help clients to grow their portfolios and customer engagement in their core business.
  7. Partner with peers in other functional areas and across global regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.
  8. Manage various systems of record for pricing approvals, internal routing, legal/funding approvals, and proper revenue recognition.

Skills

Required

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Solid understanding of payments dynamics and co-brand economics.
  • Deep knowledge of travel companies business dynamics, revenue drivers and loyalty program mechanics.
  • Track record of managing external partnerships or client relationships.
  • Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance.
  • Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking operations and payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes, marketing initiatives and card acquiring experience.
  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing individuals and consulting teams.
  • Technology oriented, curious, up-to-date with payment and industry trends and applications.

Nice to have

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 5+ years of relevant experience at large management consulting firm or equivalent.
