Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA has geographically focused teams and the hub practice teams, which provides expertise in specific industry or functional verticals (Digital, Risk, Business Solutions, Acquiring & Merchant)
What the Director Fraud Risk, Visa Consulting & Analytics does at Visa:
The VCA Risk Advisory Practice team is responsible for delivering Risk advisory services to Visa’s clients (Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants) across Fraud and Cyber Risk. The Director Fraud Risk will report to the VCA Fraud Risk Lead, Asia Pacific within the VCA Risk Advisory Practice team and will contribute to the delivery of Fraud Risk advisory engagements. This individual will bring expertise in both the Fraud Risk functional domain and in risk analytics gained as Risk practitioner within a bank and/or a specialized consulting firm. We are looking for a motivated, analytically minded individual with a track record of using Risk expertise to unlock business value.
Key responsibilities for the Director Fraud Risk:
- Act as a domain expert in Fraud Risk, to inform business strategies across the fraud risk credit lifecycle
- Lead/support the delivery of Fraud Risk advisory engagements across Asia Pacific
- Collaborating with the client’s team (both internal and external) to understand the business problem and desired business outcome
- Collaborate with the VCA Asia Pacific hub team and be accountable for planning, resourcing, performance, oversight and delivery
- End-to-end delivery of multiple projects within timelines, scope and budget requirements
- Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and maintain the highest levels of quality in deliverables
- Develop Fraud Risk advisory related knowledge and capabilities creating next generation risk engagement with Visa clients
- Act as an expert in Fraud Risk Strategy & Analytics to develop Fraud Risk data driven solutions across the client life cycle including Origination, Transactions with focus on Fraud Optimization, Fraud Risk Prediction/Scoring and other leading capabilities.
- Partner with in-market VCA consultants and data scientists to deliver fraud risk-related advisory engagements
- Establish Intellectual Property (IP) risk repository for VCA by capitalizing on learnings from consulting engagements (e.g., build standard methods, create library of case studies, templatize modeling codes)
- Reengineer and/or package risk consulting methodologies and data driven solutions as appropriate, ensuring world-class best practices and efficiency through economies of scale
- Partner with other Visa functions (e.g., Risk, Products) to capitalize on existing risk products/solutions and co-design new ones leveraging Visa’s assets (expertise, data, capabilities)
- Share methodologies and best practices with other VCA regional teams
- Ensure consistency, standards & quality control of Fraud Risk methodologies in AP
- Provide deep subject matter expertise and thought leadership by publishing articles and white papers

- Enterprise Fraud Framework & Strategy - Develop future state Fraud Strategy & Framework leveraging global best practices
- Fraud Strategy & Process Optimization - Enhance fraud risk management strategy with optimal detection performance
- Fraud Risk Prediction/Scoring - Development of statistical models based on client data to predict the likelihood of fraud occurrence
- Fraud Rule Optimization - On-behalf execution of fraud risk management for clients to optimize performance & enhance detections

Qualifications
Technical:
- 12+ years of relevant experience in Fraud Risk Management either with reputed issuing banks or a risk practitioner with consulting firms.
- Graduate / Post Graduate degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in retail banking / consumer lending industry required
- Deep domain expertise in Fraud Risk life cycle practices, including Prevention, Detection, Response and Recovery
- Deep understanding of the consumer fraud risk landscape in AP
- Understanding of the implications of digital transformation on fraud risk management
- Experience in fraud risk analytics or hands on experience with one or more data analytics/programming tools preferred
- Hands on experience of risk analytical models (e.g. fraud prediction)
- Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problems.
