AMD is seeking a Director to establish its Singapore Advanced Packaging Lab, focusing on developing advanced packaging technologies for their AI product portfolio. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team to build and scale measurement and characterization capabilities across optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and imaging domains. The candidate will define the lab's technical roadmap, build and scale a high-performing team, drive collaboration with global engineering teams and external partners, and engage with manufacturing partners. Experience in advanced packaging, metrology, characterization, and data analysis is preferred, along with familiarity with leveraging agentic AI for productivity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and lead a multidisciplinary team to establish and scale advanced measurement and characterization capabilities across key domains, including: Optical, Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Imaging.
  2. Define and execute the lab’s technical roadmap in alignment with AMD’s AI packaging strategy.
  3. Build and scale a high-performing team with deep domain expertise across metrology and characterization.
  4. Drive collaboration with global engineering teams (design, simulation, manufacturing) and external partners to accelerate capability development.
  5. Establish strong partnerships with equipment vendors, research institutions, and ecosystem partners to enable innovation in measurement technologies.
