Director, AI Strategy & Operations Program Manager

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Mountain View, CA +2 · Business Strategy

This role is for a Director, AI Strategy & Operations Program Manager within Microsoft AI's Superintelligence team. The role focuses on shaping the operating cadence for model development, driving compute and resource allocation, producing competitive intelligence, and authoring strategic analysis to inform leadership decisions. It involves identifying and implementing changes within the organization to ensure success in building capable and safe AI systems. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and execution skills, with a focus on driving outcomes and coordinating across technical and non-technical teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own competitive and market intelligence across the AI landscape. Track what matters, synthesise it into sharp briefs, and turn analysis into concrete recommendations that leadership acts on
  2. Shape and run the operating cadence for model development - organise decision forums, curate pre-reads, pressure-test proposals, and drive follow-through so decisions don't stall
  3. Drive compute and resource allocation across strategic priorities. Understand what the organisation needs, where the constraints are, and how to get maximum impact from finite resources
  4. Coordinate execution across teams - partner with engineering, research, infrastructure, and product to unblock priorities, escalate risks early, and keep critical initiatives moving
  5. Author strategic analysis and recommendation memos. Translate complex technical and market dynamics into clear, evidence-based positions that leadership can act on
