Chewy is seeking a Director of Benefits to lead the design, administration, and strategy for their benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, wellbeing, leave, and time off. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in benefits, strong leadership skills to manage teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Legal, and a focus on ensuring plans are competitive, compliant, and resonate with employees. The Director will be responsible for scaling administration, assessing offerings, monitoring employee sentiment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing effective communication strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Creates forward looking strategy for all benefits plans and programs.
  2. Serves as subject matter expert and advisor to Senior Leadership on all benefits matters.
  3. Scales the administration of all benefits plans and programs to ensure efficient operations while keeping the team member’s experience front and center.
  4. Regularly assesses benefits offerings to balance market competitiveness and spend.
  5. Closely monitors team member sentiment to ensure resonance and applicability of all plans and programs.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in HR or related discipline
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in Benefits
  • 10+ years in a leadership role, focused on Benefits plan design and administration
  • 5+ years leading Benefits for a large organization
  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills
  • experience partnering with senior level executives across HR, Finance, Legal, and the C-suite

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree and/or benefits certification a plus
