Director, Category Management and Procurement Excellence for Johnson & Johnson MedTech's Heart Recovery business unit. This role will oversee external spending for direct materials, including precision materials, external manufacturing, and electronics. Responsibilities include driving end-to-end spend performance, supply security, risk management, sourcing strategies, innovation, and procurement excellence. The role also involves people management of a team of 15+, including category management leads and a Data Analytics and Governance lead.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and shape strong supplier network to deliver current and future quality expectations, supply reliability, Innovation and Costs. Partner with Advanced sourcing teams to deploy sourcing choices guided by sourcing strategies
  2. Manage and elevate key strategic supplier relationships by partnering with cross functions across quality, planning, supplier engineering and R&D.
  3. Support quality remediations efforts in current supplier network by collaborating with supplier quality
  4. Deepen sourcing strategies, risk management and contracting excellence in direct materials by resulting in adequate supplier capacity for growth with efficient costs
  5. Deliver cost efficiency across TCO through sourcing capabilities and cross functional collaboration

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • min 15+ years business experience in procurement or in supply chain functions with deep experience in procurement
  • High level understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (e.g. Category Management, Supplier Management, contract management, Supply Chain Integration, Business planning, Performance Management).
  • Strong Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with J&J senior Management).
  • Strong leadership, vision/strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration, talent development skills are key
  • Minimum of 7-year experience in people leadership, demonstrated through J&J or similar professional environment.
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence"
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
  • Fluent German and English language skills
  • Ability to continuously improve the organization
