Visa is seeking a Director, Client Consulting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to lead end-to-end consulting engagements for clients in the payments industry. The role involves identifying client pain points, defining project scopes, developing strategies for payment solutions, and collaborating with data science teams on AI model deployment. The position requires strong consulting, sales, and analytical skills, with a focus on driving business impact and client relationships.

What you'd actually do

  1. act as the overall program head to deliver end-to-end consulting engagements for our key issuing, acquiring, merchant & fintech clients.
  2. closely interact & work with the client team gathering and managing project inputs, analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.
  3. identify potential clients’ business pain-points and areas for strategy and process improvement, thereby defining project scope deliverables and revenue opportunity to sell-in client engagement projects and building new practice solutions.
  4. Contribute to the development of VCA’s consulting offerings and engagement delivery in Malaysia to help Visa clients protect and grow payments
  5. Develop trusted advisor relationships with client senior executives through impactful consulting engagements

What the JD emphasized

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in consulting, corporate strategy, banking or business management.
  • Senior-level experience in Big 4, MBB or Boutique consulting firms and equivalent players is valued
  • Good knowledge of the payments industry landscape and developments, consumer trends and regulatory changes in Malaysia
  • Excellent client relationship management with strong sales orientation and experience in selling major projects and ideas to senior management
  • Robust experience in execution and implementation, driving initiatives to deliver concrete demonstrated business impact or value (e.g. cost savings, new product launch, revenue uplift, etc.)
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
