Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director, Commercial Training & Development for their Vision team. This role provides strategic leadership for the commercial learning agenda, leading a team to equip sales and commercial stakeholders with necessary skills and knowledge. The Director will set the vision for commercial training, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business priorities, and will partner with various departments to design and execute integrated learning strategies. Responsibilities include developing commercial capability strategy, leading the training team, establishing learning plans, overseeing onboarding, driving selling capabilities, ensuring content accuracy and compliance, developing train-the-trainer programs, overseeing measurement, championing field technology adoption, managing vendors and budgets, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set the Commercial Capability Strategy, define and own the commercial training and development vision, aligning to enterprise strategy and business priorities.
  2. Own the end‑to‑end commercial capability agenda, ensuring that selling, leadership, economic, and execution skills are developed through integrated academies, role-based journeys, and technology-enabled delivery.
  3. Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Training & Development team; ensure accountability, set clear objectives, operating rhythms, and standards for capability building, content quality, facilitation excellence, and stakeholder partnership.
  4. Establish integrated annual learning plans (including needs assessment, curriculum architecture, delivery modalities) and quarterly enablement roadmaps aligned with business priorities (e.g., launches, Sales Plan of Action, segmentation, and channel strategies)
  5. Develop the strategy and oversee onboarding for new hires and role transitions, ensuring effective time-to-productivity outcomes and consistent capability baselines across roles and regions.

  • 10+ years of progressive commercial experience
