Director, Cross Border (Growth & Initiatives) role within Visa's Product organization for India & South Asia. This position is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, governance, and execution of high-impact cross-border initiatives, focusing on payment success rate improvements, authentication readiness, acquiring expansion, and strategic pilots. The role involves leading engagements with issuers, acquirers, and ecosystem partners, and orchestrating internal teams across Product, Risk, Technology, Client Services, Legal, and PMO. Key responsibilities include program ownership, commercialization, executive engagement, and driving payment success and acceptance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the strategy, prioritization, and delivery of multiple cross‑border programs with clear accountability for outcomes (e.g., PSR uplift, Spend uplift, Acceptance expansion)
  2. Translate regional and global cross‑border priorities into executable market programs, with defined success metrics, milestones, and governance cadence.
  3. Drive commercialization of cross‑border initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, adopted by clients, and deliver measurable business impact.
  4. Lead negotiations on pilots, operating models, technical changes, and risk/coverage constructs required to unlock cross‑border growth.
  5. Own PSR improvement programs end‑to‑end, including issuer adoption of authentication solutions, recovery of ECI‑7 declined volumes, and readiness on disputes and chargebacks.

Skills

Required

  • 11+ years of experience in payments, financial services, or fintech
  • significant exposure to cross‑border, cards, or acceptance ecosystems
  • Proven ability to own and deliver complex, multi‑stakeholder programs with commercial and operational impact
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing C‑suite and senior executives at issuers, acquirers, or large ecosystem partners
  • Strong executive presence with a track record of leading large, cross‑functional initiatives in matrixed environments
  • Deep understanding of payment economics, risk/authentication dynamics, and regulatory considerations in cross‑border payments
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with the ability to move from concept to scaled execution
