Director, Data Analysis - Fraud Data Team

This role is for a Director of Data Analysis focused on fraud data within Capital One. The primary responsibilities include developing data management strategies, defining and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), overseeing data controls and quality, and managing a team of data professionals. The role requires significant experience in data analytics, open-source data technologies, and people management, with preferred experience in Big Data, cloud platforms, process/project management, Python, streaming data, and Data Governance. The role is within the fintech domain and focuses on mature data practices for fraud detection.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute on data management strategy
  2. Define and monitor KRI’s and escalate areas of non-compliance as appropriate
  3. Oversee the design and execution of data controls
  4. Oversee data quality monitoring and data issue management practices
  5. Monitor the health of data catalog metadata
  6. Manage team of high performing data professionals

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of experience performing data analytics
  • 6 years of experience performing professional data analysis work
  • 6 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies
  • 4 years of experience managing people

  • 10+ years of Professional Data Analysis experience
  • 5+ years of Big Data experience (AWS and Spark)
  • 5+ years of cloud native (AWS) data processing experience
