This role oversees the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include leading project managers, managing documentation, overseeing quality control, leading site walks, managing risks, and serving as the primary point of contact with colocation providers. The role also involves managing vendor contracts and overseeing the installation of critical infrastructure like power, cooling, and networking.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring successful delivery of projects within the established timeline, budget, and quality parameters.
  2. Provides high-level leadership to project managers, setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  3. Directs the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem-solving papers, ensuring organizational standards are upheld, documents are managed and delivered effectively, and all materials are suitable for their intended purpose.
  4. Directs the oversight of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
  5. Oversees the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects, ensuring all systems are operational and meet design specifications.
