Director of Data Center Facilities Development responsible for overseeing the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The role involves high-level leadership, strategic goal setting, documentation management, quality control, risk assessment and mitigation, and vendor/contract management. It also includes overseeing the installation of critical infrastructure systems like power, cooling, and networking.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring successful delivery of projects within the established timeline, budget, and quality parameters.
  2. Directs the oversight of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
  3. Addresses gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and communicates potential impacts to executive leadership.
  4. Directs the role of primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers.
  5. Oversees the selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and performance and construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.
