Director of Data Center Facilities Development responsible for overseeing the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves high-level leadership, strategic goal setting, documentation management, quality control, risk assessment, stakeholder management, and contract negotiation. The Director will also oversee the installation of critical infrastructure systems like power, cooling, and networking.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring successful delivery of projects within the established timeline, budget, and quality parameters.
  2. Provides high-level leadership to project managers, setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  3. Directs the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem-solving papers.
  4. Directs the oversight of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
  5. Leads strategic site walks and oversees the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
