Salesforce is seeking a Director of Engineering Operations and Strategy to lead operational excellence, organizational effectiveness, and strategic initiatives within their global engineering organization. This role focuses on building a technical enablement and deployment program to empower engineers in using the Salesforce Platform for customer success. Responsibilities include defining onboarding, training, and engagement models, driving operational frameworks, and evaluating program outcomes. The role requires extensive leadership experience in SaaS environments, a strong understanding of enterprise SaaS deployment, platform guardrails, and SDLC, with an emphasis on scaling programs and enabling engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and customer-first problem solving.
  2. Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to new and existing engineers.
  3. Build pathways for engineers to progress from onboarding to technical leadership in the field.
  4. Define the technical vision for the engineering program, ensuring alignment with Salesforce platform best practices, guardrails, and product roadmaps.
  5. Build scalable onboarding, training, and certification programs to equip engineers with deep Salesforce technical expertise across the platform, Revenue Cloud, and Industries solutions.

Skills

Required

  • 15+ years of engineering leadership experience in SaaS or enterprise software environments. roles, including 8+ years in leadership.
  • Experience in scaling engineering teams and operations in fast-paced environments with background in change management and scaling operational frameworks.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional, globally distributed engineering teams and large-scale program
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS deployment models, platform guardrails, and technical health frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, Agile, CI/CD
  • Operational mindset with experience scaling global programs and managing technical processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior engineers, product teams, and customer stakeholders.
