Director, Global Security APAC/China Lead for Johnson & Johnson (DePuy Synthes) responsible for leading security strategy, operations, and risk management across the Asia-Pacific region, including China. This role protects employees, assets, products, and information while managing geopolitical and operational risks, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure a safe operating environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing physical security, travel security, crisis management, incident response, and managing regional security teams and budgets.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and execute the APAC and China security strategy in alignment with global security objectives and business priorities.
  2. Oversee physical security, travel security, crisis management, and incident response across APAC markets.
  3. Through support of intelligence, assess and mitigate regional security risks, including geopolitical, operational, and site‑specific threats.
  4. Serve as the primary security advisor to regional leadership, providing risk insights and strategic guidance.
  5. Lead and develop regional security teams and external security partners.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business, Criminal Justice, International Relations, or a related field
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, risk management, or related leadership roles
  • Proven experience leading regional or global security programs, preferably across APAC and China
  • Strong understanding of geopolitical risk, crisis management, and security operations in complex markets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Experience managing third‑party security providers and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, judgment, and decision‑making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • English proficiency required

  • Master’s degree or advanced professional education
  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience supporting large‑scale transformations or business separations
  • Familiarity with regulatory, cultural, and operational considerations across APAC and China
  • Experience implementing global security standards and governance models
  • Background in investigations, intelligence, or risk analysis
  • Mandarin or other APAC languages preferred
  • Professional security or risk certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred
