Director - GPU Stack Unified Build & Release Platform

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · San Jose, CA · Engineering

AMD is seeking a Director to lead a tiger team of 5-10 engineers to build a unified build and CI platform for their GPU stack. This role requires deep technical expertise in build systems, CI/CD, and release pipelines, as well as strong leadership and executive communication skills to drive organizational change and phased rollout. The Director will also spend approximately 50% of their time coding and architecting the platform, with a focus on leveraging agentic AI tools for productivity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Technical direction for the unified build and release platform
  2. Executive alignment on phased rollout
  3. Organizational change across firmware, kernel, and ROCm teams
  4. Tiger team leadership
  5. Code at ~50% — and mean it
