Director, Hardware Product Operations

Samsara Samsara · Enterprise · Dallas, TX · Remote · Supply Chain

Director of Hardware Product Operations at Samsara, a company focused on the Connected Operations Cloud for industries like transportation, agriculture, and manufacturing. The role leads a team responsible for the successful launch of new hardware, owning cost, resilience, and supply chain enablement, and collaborating with R&D and JDMs. This is a product-focused role within operations, not directly building AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the team with responsibility for successful hardware launches within the Ops organization. This team has direct ownership of cost (non-recurring and product), resilience, and supply chain enablement for new hardware launches.
  2. Partner with Hardware & Operations team members including Program Managers, Engineering, Product Design, and Ops Engineering to maintain schedule and ensure successful ramp to mass production.
  3. Be the key relationship owner with external JDMs cutting across executive engagement and a recurring business management system (e.g., QBRs).
  4. Embody Samsara’s operating principle Have Discipline. Build and maintain a system that continues to build rigor in our cost, resilience, and sustainability goals.
  5. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
