DoorDash is seeking a Director of Litigation with deep experience in commercial dispute resolution to manage a broad portfolio of risk management issues. The role involves hands-on handling of litigation, managing outside counsel, advising business partners, and leading a small team focused on consumer and merchant disputes. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of litigation experience, management skills, and proficiency with AI tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own a broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters in a wide range of practice areas and in all U.S. jurisdictions as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
  2. Take a hands-on approach to all facets of litigation, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, drafting and revising legal briefs, interviewing witnesses, preparing witnesses for testimony, and negotiating and drafting settlements.
  3. Manage all aspects of outside counsel relationships, including staffing, litigation strategy, work product, and budgets.
  4. Advise business partners to proactively address and resolve potential disputes while supporting business objectives.
  5. Manage a small, but mighty team primarily focused on consumer and merchant disputes.

  • 15+ years of broad litigation experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house
  • handling complex commercial litigation, including class action litigation, alternative dispute resolution and pre-litigation disputes
