Director, Major Accounts for Datadog, a leading observability and security platform for the AI era. This role focuses on driving new business and expanding Datadog's footprint with large, strategic clients. The Director will manage, hire, train, and mentor a team of Major Account Managers, responsible for achieving annual Enterprise bookings quota and executing complex sales cycles. The role involves developing sales strategies, coaching the team on productivity metrics, building executive relationships, and collaborating with internal teams like Marketing and Product. Requires extensive experience in managing enterprise sales teams in B2B technology, complex sales processes, and C-level engagement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage, hire, train and ramp a team of Major Account Managers responsible for executing on large expansion deals
  2. Achieve annual Enterprise bookings quota with monthly and quarterly targets
  3. Develop and manage Major Account Managers on productivity metrics such as deal size, win rate, and forecast accuracy as well as how to lead a customer through a proactive sales cycle
  4. Coach Major Account Managers through building executive relationships with Named Enterprise accounts in their territories and through complex Enterprise deals and negotiations
  5. Shape the direction of the go-to market strategy and execution for your region

Skills

Required

  • Managing a high performing Enterprise Sales team for a B2B technology company
  • 5+ years of overall Enterprise sales experience working with Fortune 1000 companies
  • Managing complex sales processes with multiple stakeholders and negotiations with pricing based on business value, legal and procurement
  • Selling to C-level executives in the IT space
  • Setting quotas and managing people against those quotas
  • Coaching others with a successful track record as an individual contributor and can share relevant and complex closing experience with a growing team
  • Regular travel to client sites
