Director, Market Engagement - Community Impact & Investment

This role is for a Director of Market Engagement within Capital One's Community Impact & Investment team. The primary focus is on understanding community needs and opportunities in specific regions, developing investment strategies (grants, skills, loans), and fostering relationships with community leaders and organizations. The role involves people management, market research, and translating market intelligence into tangible impact for both the community and Capital One's business agenda. It is not directly involved in building or deploying AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will provide thought leadership to identify and engage key community leaders in creating new approaches to pressing community needs.
  2. You will manage the team that conducts research and market scans to identify, analyze, and vet possible partners across a wide variety of community organizations including social and nonprofit organizations, activists, influencers, small business leaders, policymakers, CDFIs and other funding organizations or in-market financial services providers across the Mid-Atlantic market and beyond.
  3. You will develop regional and national investment strategies (inclusive of grant funding, advocacy and skill-based contributions) that deliver on regulatory, reputational and data-driven community needs
  4. You will lead strategic initiatives on behalf of Market Engagement, CI&I and Global External Affairs inclusive of multi-region or national investments, cross-collaborative opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  5. You will create presentations and reports to bring market insights to CI&I, Global External Affairs, and other business lines to inform where, how and why Capital One makes market
