Director, Network Engineering

Oracle Oracle · Enterprise · Santa Clara, CA +1

Director, Network Engineering role at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) focused on leading a team responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of network products (Ethernet switches, routers, optical systems, custom ASIC-based platforms). The role involves product definition, architecture, design, validation, deployment readiness, and lifecycle management, ensuring products meet OCI's standards for scale, reliability, performance, and operational excellence. Requires deep networking expertise, leadership, and cross-functional execution skills, with experience partnering with external vendors to influence roadmaps and resolve technical challenges.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network product engineers responsible for the design, qualification, deployment, and lifecycle management of networking platforms supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  2. Establish technical vision, priorities, and execution plans for Network Products Engineering in alignment with OCI infrastructure strategy.
  3. Drive the design, development, testing, validation, and deployment readiness of switching, routing, optical, and ASIC-based networking platforms.
  4. Partner with external hardware vendors, silicon providers, and optical manufacturers to influence technology roadmaps, prioritize features, resolve product gaps, and ensure successful delivery against OCI requirements.
  5. Own vendor technical relationships and represent OCI during architecture reviews, design discussions, qualification activities, and executive business reviews.
