Overview
Microsoft AI is seeking a Director of Product Marketing & Go‑to‑Market for Frontier Models & Innovation—a hybrid Product Marketing Manager (PMM)/Go-to-Market (GTM) leadership role that defines how our next generation of frontier models are positioned, understood, adopted, and scaled globally. This role sits at the intersection of upstream product marketing, deep technical credibility, creative GTM orchestration, and employer branding.
You will shape the narrative and strategic frame for frontier model innovation, influence product direction through insight and competitive clarity, and lead the global launch engine that brings breakthrough research to market. You will elevate the work of our most senior engineers and researchers, translate complex model capabilities into industry‑shaping stories, and position Microsoft AI as the destination for the world’s top technical talent.
You will also champion our humanistic AI approach—ensuring interpretability, safety, and human flourishing are embedded in both product strategy and every external narrative.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in technical product marketing
- OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in technical product marketing
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in technical product marketing
- OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years in technical product marketing
- OR equivalent experience.
10+ years in product marketing, GTM, developer relations, or research program leadership, with 4+ years focused on AI/ Machine Learning (ML) platforms or foundational models.
Experience in ML fundamentals, transformer architectures, scaling, fine‑tuning, and evaluation.
Experience shaping product narratives, influencing roadmap, and driving adoption of technical platforms.
Experience partnering with senior technical leaders and translate their work into external recognition and hiring outcomes.
Product Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
