Director of Supplier Performance Management

This role is for a Director of Supplier Performance Management within Microsoft's Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) division. The primary focus is on leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of supplier performance across the datacenter supply chain. Responsibilities include defining global supplier management models, establishing performance standards, and partnering with various internal teams to optimize supplier engagement for availability, cost, and deployment speed. The role involves leading a team, driving data-driven decision-making, and ensuring alignment with business needs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and execute a global supplier management strategy, including performance frameworks, governance models, and standardized processes.
  2. Lead a team managing a portfolio of global programs focused on supplier performance, escalation management, and operational excellence.
  3. Partner with datacenter operations, engineering, finance, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment on supplier priorities and outcomes.
  4. Translate the organizational vision into team priorities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field
  • 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement Operations, Finance or related field
  • 6+ years management experience

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field
  • 10+ years program management experience, process management, process improvement
  • 8+ years people management experience
  • Commercial understanding and experience working with contracts
  • Knowledge of data center industry
  • Experience managing a variety of project delivery methods
  • Experience effectively interacting with diverse groups across organizational levels
  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.)
  • Ability to implement new processes and get buy in from a cross functional team
  • Operations experience in key categories including Data Center Equipment, Mechanical & Electrical Equipment or IT Hardware
  • Experience in Supply Chain vendor management
