Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead strategic programs for their Heart Recovery organization within the MedTech division. This role involves strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, resource allocation, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals for product development and business strategy. The position requires significant experience in project and portfolio management, people management, and strong business acumen, with a fluency in generative AI tools being a noted skill.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with key functions including Finance, Strategic Marketing, Medical Office and Engineering to support Strategic Plan, Worldwide Product Plan, Business Plan and Tactical Plan cycles.
  2. Lead team/s to translate organizational strategy into an integrated executable plan, including scenario planning, governance approvals and setting priorities, and optimizing plans through constructive challenge and continuous dialogue with the different functions to ensure all activities are aligned with team goals and objectives.
  3. Drive teams to meet or exceed those goals by providing superior global cross-functional operational leadership and management in a matrix organization.
  4. Partner with cross-functional leads (e.g., Engineering, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, etc.) across Heart Recovery to ensure end-to-end program oversight for strategic business priorities (e.g. cultural programs) and to identify and mitigate risks and issues to maintain quality, timelines, resources and budget.
  5. Lead scenario planning, resource planning, risk management, issue identification and mitigation, problem-solving, contingency planning, action-item follow-up, decision-support and decision-making to deliver strategic goals for the organization.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of project and portfolio management experience
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role in MedTech
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience
  • Strong business insight and strategic thinking
  • Consistent record of leading large-scale projects and teams across multiple locations
  • Solid understanding of project management software and tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries

  • Advanced degree preferred
