PitchBook is seeking a Director, Quantitative Research to lead a team focused on developing models, metrics, and insights from private market and macroeconomic data. This role involves setting research strategy, overseeing quantitative models, ensuring data integrity, and integrating models into the PitchBook platform. The position requires deep expertise in private markets and strong leadership skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a team of quantitative analysts, fostering a high-performance culture of collaboration, accountability, and analytical excellence
  2. Set and own the research strategy, aligning priorities with PitchBook’s business objectives and ensuring the delivery of differentiated, actionable insights across private markets
  3. Provide strategic oversight of advanced quantitative models, methodologies, and analytical frameworks used to evaluate private market data, fund performance, and market trends
  4. Establish standards and best practices for data integrity, governance, and accessibility, ensuring the reliability and effective use of large, complex datasets across the research organization
  5. Drive the end-to-end integration of quantitative models into the PitchBook platform, working closely with Product and Development to deliver high-impact, scalable analytics to clients

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in quantitative research, data science, or a related analytical discipline
  • 7+ years in people leadership roles
  • Deep expertise in private markets and alternative investments
  • Technical leadership in quantitative models and analytical frameworks
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, Excel
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to oversee rigorous research programs and deliver insight-driven research outputs

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree or professional credential (MBA, CFA, PhD, or equivalent)
