This role is for a Director of Sales Strategy & Operations at Marqeta, a fintech company specializing in embedded finance and card issuing platforms. The position focuses on defining and executing sales strategy, optimizing sales processes, driving reporting and insights, and managing operational activities to maximize sales productivity. The role involves partnering with sales leadership, analyzing data, leading strategic planning, and managing a team of revenue operations professionals. Experience in FinTech/modern payments sales environments and strong analytical and project management skills are required. The role is not directly involved in building or researching AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support sales leadership to drive expected weekly cadence for forecasting, pipeline generation, pipeline progression and closing deals
  2. Optimize GTM strategy including core sales processes and productivity drivers, infrastructure and automation, regional performance
  3. Continually optimize our sales funnel through data, systems, strategy and process - including the sales pipeline and forecast management process, working to ensure forecast accuracy and overall pipeline health
  4. Drive & support planning efforts covering sales strategy, quota setting, team structure & resourcing and account assignments
  5. Provide analytical thought leadership, creating meaningful business insights, implementing strategic operational priorities and developing and allocating key performance metrics
