This role is for a Director Sourcing Engineer focused on memory components within Microsoft's Devices Operations team. The individual will lead sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships up to executive levels, analyze market trends for DRAM and NAND technologies, and optimize costs and supply chain resilience. The role requires deep technical and market knowledge in ICs, memory, and chipsets, with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a portfolio of memory commodities and mentor sourcing engineers
  2. Own executive-level supplier governance (EVP/CEO engagements)
  3. Set multi-year category strategy
  4. Drive cross-commodity / cross-org decisions with VP+ stakeholders
  5. Build and maintain strategic relationships with memory suppliers up to CEO levels

Skills

Required

  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
