Director, Technical Program Management

This role is for a Director of Technical Program Management within Capital One's Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering organization. The primary focus is on leading large-scale, complex programs that deliver critical business goals and build scalable products and platforms. The role also involves expanding the TPM discipline within the team, mentoring other TPMs, and driving technical program delivery. Experience in highly regulated environments and cloud computing services (AWS) is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. leading programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large scale products & platforms
  2. leading large scale complex programs spanning across multiple lines of business and divisions partnering with both business and product teams to deliver against technology intent for the Integration of two highly diverse technology ecosystems
  3. work to pave the way for expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve
  4. grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practice
  5. simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 years of experience managing technical programs

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
  • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services or architecture - preferably using AWS
  • 3+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
  • Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience
