Netflix is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management to lead a team of TPMs focused on their advertising foundations, supply, and decisioning domains. This role involves strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, operational excellence, and risk management for revenue-critical initiatives in the connected TV advertising space. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical program management, specifically within ads platforms, and a proven track record of leading and mentoring TPM teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and Mentor a High-Performing Team: Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a world-class team of Technical Program Managers. Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  2. Strategic Program Leadership: Oversee the planning and reviews, tech planning and execution of multiple complex technical programs across various product domains. Ensure alignment with overall company objectives and product strategy.
  3. Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a central point of contact and trusted partner for Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design, partner engineering orgs and other stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and decision-making.
  4. Operational Excellence: Define, implement, and optimize scalable program management processes, program KPIs and best practices. Drive continuous improvement in program execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  5. Risk Management and Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and organizational risks across programs. Develop contingency plans and drive resolution of critical issues.

Skills

Required

  • 15+ years of experience in technical program management
  • at least 5 years in a leadership role managing and mentoring other TPMs
  • Deep expertise in ads platforms spanning supply, demand, and real-time decisioning
  • hands-on experience driving programs across auction design, targeting, pacing, optimization, and end-to-end ads architecture
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale, complex technical programs in a fast-paced product engineering environment
  • Demonstrated experience building, growing, and leading high-performing technical program management teams
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex architectural concepts and engineering challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
