Director of Web Strategy and Engineering at New Relic, responsible for the global strategic vision and development of the company's web presence. This role leads a team of web producers, strategists, and engineers, focusing on high-level strategy and technical execution, website optimization, digital experience enhancement, and CRO programs. The position also involves overseeing the technical architecture, platform selection, and technology stack, and reporting on key website metrics.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee and manage the team responsible for New Relic’s web presence.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive website strategy and roadmap for newrelic.com aligned with business goals and user needs - including optimization and digital experience enhancement, etc.
  3. Oversee development team (internal developers and/or external agencies) in building and maintaining the website. (Global teams: US and IST)
  4. Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Creative, Data Analytics, Regional teams, etc.) to align web strategy with broader marketing and business initiatives.
  5. Work closely with in-house UX teams to analyze user behavior, website analytics, and conversion data to identify optimization opportunities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 7-10+ years of experience in digital marketing, web strategy, or related roles
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using web analytics platforms
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives
  • Experience leading web application development teams to deliver against KPIs at scale.
  • Solid understanding of CSS, Git and JavaScript.
  • Documented, hands-on experience planning multi-quarter roadmaps for high visibility B2B websites
  • Extensive experience planning and managing against concrete business performance objectives in a product-led software business
  • Having a collaborative work style that includes colleagues in important decisions and leads to shared code ownership.
  • Experience with content management systems and web technologies
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to have

  • Expertise and experience in full-stack development experience front end and back-end (i.e. PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, RESTful APIs.)
  • Experience leveraging AI to scale workflows.
  • Strong expertise in Drupal 9/10 development.
  • Familiarity with Figma, Tailwind CSS, Eleventy, and/or Svelte JS.
  • Familiarity working at enterprise scale across several tech stacks and partner teams.
  • Experience in technical mentorship and support for helping level-up the skills of colleagues on the team.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM platforms
  • Experience in B2B or enterprise technology environments
  • Google Analytics and related certifications
