Netflix is hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer for their Membership & Monetization Platform (MMP) team. This role focuses on the commerce backbone of Netflix, handling subscription state, pricing, and plan availability for millions of members globally. The engineer will work on product-facing features and platform infrastructure, tackling distributed systems challenges like race conditions, consistency, and throughput optimization. They will also be part of the on-call rotation for Tier 0 services and own production reliability end-to-end.

What you'd actually do

  1. You'll work across the full spectrum, from product-facing features that directly impact acquisition and retention, to the platform infrastructure that makes them possible at Netflix scale.
  2. You'll partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to build commerce experiences that drive growth.
  3. On the platform side, you'll tackle distributed systems challenges: race conditions, consistency guarantees and throughput optimization.
  4. You’ll evolve our infrastructure to keep pace with Netflix's expanding commerce surface (Ads, Games, Live Streaming).
  5. You'll also be part of the on-call rotation for these Tier 0 services, owning production reliability end-to-end.
