About the Team Walmart's Global Tech Platforms team, also known as GTP, helps thousands of developers save time and code better, so that millions of Walmart associates can help hundreds of millions of customers to save money and live better.
We sustain millions of transactions per second, process petabytes of data, and enable tens of thousands of production deployments per day. We simplify the complexities of scale and unify the software development for all aspects of business, digital and physical.
We are developer’s developers. We provide and foster the cloud native culture to our organization. Our team has the whole gamut of platforms, services, libraries, tools and frameworks on some of the cutting-edge technologies to solve hard, complex and high scale business problems. The Infrastructure as a Service team provides private and public cloud infrastructure - compute (VMs, CPUs, GPUs and Bare metals), storage (CEPH), SDN and container platform. The Software Development Environment – SDE team – provides world class CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, repositories and OneOps deployment tool providing ultimate DevOps power to developers for continuous delivery. The application foundation team provides multi-tenant managed services for authz, messaging (JMS, Kafka), caching, externalized gateways, cloud configuration, massive centralized log search farm, telemetry, Cassandra/Oracle/MySql/MS-QL/Cloud RDBMS for the developer community of Walmart. All of the developer-productivity tools provided by GTP are continuously enhanced through recent advancements in GenAI. These solutions are frequently revamped to capitalize on the latest progress in both AI and GenAI, ensuring that teams always benefit from the most modern capabilities.
What You'll Do
Our ideal candidate is an energetic, self-motivated individual focused on solving customer problems. He/she is a responsive team player who can proactively contribute for building technical strategies for applications and systems by promoting an understanding of the technology and business roadmap. - You will be responsible for development of developer facing applications that are used to boost the developer productivity and experience of Walmart developers.
- Lead a team of top-notch engineers to successfully build and deploy cutting edge platforms. Lead and direct large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing
- Design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); write and develop code; oversee software design; review unit test cases; communicate status and issues to team members and stakeholders; direct project team and cross functional teams; enhance design to prevent recurrences of defects; ensure on-time delivery and hand-offs; interact with project manager to provide input on project plan; and provide leadership to the project team.
- You will work in our own internal open stack cloud, Azure, GCP, using several technologies including but not limited to JAVA, Spring, Kafka, Cosmos DB, REST APIs, GraphQL, Python, data solutions etc.
- Focus on goal completion and support teams to overcome the challenges in implementation
- Work with senior leadership to chart out the roadmap of the products
- Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes
- Work very closely with different product and business stakeholders at various locations in US and India to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies
- Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering and management teams across different geographic locations

- Hire, Develop and Retain a strong team of software engineers.
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community

What You'll Bring
Deep expertise in architecture and design patterns, cloud-native microservices, and building resilient, reliable, high-quality software.
Strong technical mindset with hands-on product development experience and the ability to deep-dive into complex technical issues.
Exposure to program management practices, including dependency management and cross-team development tracking.
Hands-on experience with developer platforms is a strong advantage.
Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams.

An Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS in any stream – Computer Science preferred.
14+ years of relevant experience, Minimum of 5 years of experience with agile principles and practices. Experience in leading Scrum teams.
Hands on experience in building scalable cloud native software platforms/applications
Very strong understanding and experience in the area of software development lifecycle.
Strong Java/J2EE, React skill ( good to have)
Strong understanding of architecture, database, messaging , (Kafka services)
SQL/Cosmos/Azure database proficiency
Experience in leading and delivering full-stack developer platform applications would be desirable
