This role is for a Petco Certified Dog Trainer who will enhance the bond between pet parents and their dogs through modern training techniques and positive reinforcement. Responsibilities include conducting training sessions, group classes, and providing advice on basic training and environmental management. The role also involves engaging with guests to offer personalized solutions for pet needs, recommending products and services, and working with grooming and veterinary teams. The trainer must complete ongoing training programs and adhere to safety protocols.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct dog training group classes and private lessons with pet parents, educating them on positive reinforcement techniques and environmental management while providing guidance to strengthen the human-animal bond.
  2. Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, training, and supplies to ensure pet parents and their dogs have the necessary resources for a successful dog training experience.
  3. Provide an outstanding guest experience by actively engaging with guests in the recommendation and selection of merchandise and services in accordance with their identified needs.
  4. Generate future business through a deep understanding of the guest and their pet(s) and connection to our digital platforms.
  5. Demonstrate a high level of awareness and knowledge for the health, welfare, and proper handling of all animals.
