Domino Platform Technical Lead

This role is for a Technical Lead to manage and evolve a Domino-based data platform supporting Research and other business functions. Responsibilities include technical design, implementation, team leadership, and ensuring the platform is scalable, reliable, and easy to use for data scientists and analysts. The role involves owning platform architecture, building ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing CI/CD, and collaborating with stakeholders. Experience with data engineering, platform engineering, AWS, and CI/CD is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of enhancements to the Domino data platform to meet the evolving needs of Research and other business departments
  2. Own and refine the platform architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency, particularly on AWS
  3. Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest, process, and publish data from multiple internal and external sources
  4. Define and implement CI/CD best practices for the platform (infrastructure and application), including automated testing, deployment, and monitoring
  5. Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and translate use cases into technical solutions

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or similar technical roles
  • Hands-on experience with the Domino Data Lab platform or similar data science / MLOps platforms (e.g., Databricks, SageMaker, Vertex AI)
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., using Python, SQL, Spark, or similar)
  • Solid experience with AWS services relevant to data and platform engineering (e.g., S3, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM)
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar) including automated testing and deployment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical delivery: design decisions, implementation oversight, and coordination across teams (formal people management experience is a plus but not required)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: version control (Git), code review practices, testing, and documentation
