Eda Tools Hardware Engineer

This role focuses on the design, implementation, verification, and support of EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools and hardware design methodologies. The engineer will work on optimizing design automation workflows, improving efficiency, power, and performance of hardware designs, and collaborating with EDA vendors. The role requires strong programming and scripting skills, and a deep understanding of digital design processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, implement, verify, and support hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies for adoption across Intel's engineering teams.
  2. Define and enable methodologies tailored to technology node and EDA tool requirements.
  3. Develop and verify unique hardware designs and assemble design platforms for comprehensive end-to-end EDA tool testing on new technology nodes.
  4. Create, enhance, and maintain platforms, databases, scripts, and tools to improve design automation workflows.
  5. Analyze and optimize engineering tools, flows, and methodologies to achieve efficiency and enhance power and performance.

Skills

Required

  • Proficiency in EDA tools and methodologies
  • Strong programming and scripting experience (e.g., Python, Perl, TCL, or other related languages)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware design, verification, and performance optimization processes

Nice to have

  • Experience in digital design, verification, and structural or physical layout
  • Familiarity with full-chip integration and clocking methodologies
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across multidisciplinary teams
