This role is for an Editor at Northrop Grumman, responsible for producing and editing video content to support business and communication priorities. The role involves collaborating with a team, managing raw footage, and ensuring high-quality content delivery. A basic qualification includes familiarity with AI technologies like prompt engineering for LLMs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Edit and produce video content in support of business and Communication priorities while reflecting company values and honoring the Northrop Grumman brand.
  2. Collaborate with the communications team and immediate team members to understand the creative vision for the communications team and objectives of each project.
  3. Take a lead role in the editing process, working with raw footage to assemble, refine, and finalize film content in support of but not limited to talent acquisition, marketing and advertising, product demonstrations and milestones, executive leadership events and social media.
  4. Select, incorporate and balance appropriate music, sound effects, and visual effects to enhance the emotional impact and visual appeal of the final product.
  5. Ensure seamless continuity, smooth transitions, and logical flow between scenes and shots.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Digital Media, Journalism, OR a related field with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in Video Production, Digital Media, Journalism, OR a related field.
  • Proven experience in capturing and editing video, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of editing styles and techniques.
  • Excellent storytelling skills and a deep understanding of cinematic principles, pacing, and narrative structure.
  • Fluency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and related creative tools involved in film making and motion graphics.
  • Keen attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all aspects of editing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make creative decisions independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with AI technologies (e.g., prompt engineering for large‑language models) and practical experience applying them to support project goals.
