This role is for a Machine Setup Technician (Einrichter) in needle manufacturing for medical devices at Johnson & Johnson in Norderstedt, Germany. The primary responsibilities include operating, setting up, and maintaining semi- and fully-automatic production equipment, ensuring process, quality, and safety standards are met. The role requires technical training or experience, good technical understanding, and basic IT skills. The compensation is based on the IGBCE collective agreement, with a monthly gross salary between €3,792 and €4,475.

What you'd actually do

  1. Operation as well as complex setup, conversion, and support of semi- and fully-automatic production facilities
  2. Carrying out repair, maintenance, and upkeep work (partially computer-controlled)
  3. Monitoring, fine-tuning, and adherence to machine and process parameters according to specifications
  4. Failure analysis as well as sustainable troubleshooting with cost-conscious use of spare parts
  5. Ensuring product and process quality including visual quality controls

Skills

Required

  • Completed technical vocational training (e.g., industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician, machine and plant operator or similar) or several years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Very good technical understanding and confident execution of setup and repair work
  • Basic knowledge of IT / IT systems (Windows, documentation, simple Office applications)
  • Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
  • Independent, careful working method and high quality awareness
  • Reliability, decision-making and responsibility
  • Teamwork, openness to change and willingness to work shifts

Nice to have

  • Experience as a setup technician / job setter / plant attendant is an advantage
