Elec Mech Assembler II

This role is for an Electro Mechanical Assembler II at Johnson & Johnson's MedTech division. The primary responsibility is to assemble electromechanical products according to documented procedures and specifications, perform dimensional measurements, conduct tests, and document work performed. The role requires experience with electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment, interpreting schematic diagrams, and knowledge of manufacturing principles. Experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assemble components, subassemblies, and finished electromechanical products using documented procedures and specifications.
  2. Perform dimensional measurements to verify conformance to specified tolerances.
  3. Conduct tests of electromechanical products as prescribed by drawings and/or procedures.
  4. Thoroughly document work performed (i.e. but not limited to parts used, test results) on data sheets, manufacturing records, and other components of the device history record (DHR).
  5. Ensure proper care of components, tools, and test equipment, and ensure calibration.

Skills

Required

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR C and 5+ years of experience repairing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to document and communicate technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements
  • Five years of experience performing troubleshooting and PM on basic electronic, electromechanical or medical equipment following current standards, code, and procedures to ensure safe and effective operation of those devices.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
  • Experience interpreting schematic diagrams of basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
  • Operate with efficiency and sense of urgency
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to deliver results in an uncertain environment, ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and procedures.
  • Ability to provide detailed documentation of work results.
  • Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and computing rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Understanding of AC/DC circuitry and basic mechanical technology
