Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Avionics Technician to perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical wiring and systems on aircraft. This role involves working from diagrams and manuals, maintaining certifications, and potentially assisting with software uploads and system checkouts. A Secret clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.
  2. Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary.
  3. Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
  4. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as: transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.
  5. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • minimum of 4 years electrical experience (Level 3) or 6 years (Level 4)
  • ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
  • ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
  • ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work
  • ability to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation

Nice to have

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years
  • Completion of A&P certificate program or Associates degree in an applicable field
