Electrical Design Engineer, AI Factory Deployment

NVIDIA is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for AI Factory Deployment to develop and install innovative power systems for AI data centers. Responsibilities include identifying requirements, supporting global build standards, adapting electrical systems for AI Factories, conducting technical evaluations, and providing technical support for construction and commissioning.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify and collect requirements for next-generation data centers.
  2. Support the global build standards for data center power systems, partnering with internal teams to develop execution strategies and lifecycle management.
  3. Adapt DSX and electrical system reference builds to AI Factory deployments.
  4. Conduct technical evaluations from site selection through site turnover, including contractor selection, bid package development, build review, RFI response, submittal reviews, and commissioning support.
  5. Provide technical support for construction and commissioning issues, working with internal and third-party teams to ensure flawless development and product lifecycle management.

Skills

Required

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • PE License or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of professional experience in data center build or construction
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical power paths
  • Expertise in power distribution for UPS, Generators, Floor PDUs, RPPs, Busway, and power supplies/power shelves, Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAC, CRAH
  • Understanding of electrical build and operational changes with high power rack densities
  • Expert knowledge of short circuit coordination and arc flash studies
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, controls, life safety, and IT Networking systems
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in driving root cause analysis in high pressure environments
  • Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning
  • Experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies
  • Solid grasp of Sequence of Operations (SOO) for electrical system control

  • Experience working in leased colocation data centers
  • Experience with total electrical infrastructure development and implementation
  • Experience with dynamic power behavior control & mitigation for large-scale GPU deployments
  • Familiarity with BESS systems
