Electrical Engineer II responsible for the layout, design, and integration of electrical systems into custom power and control products for manufacturing. This role involves translating customer requirements into electrical design deliverables, ensuring material accuracy, and performing electrical calculations. Requires 3-5 years of experience with NEC and low-voltage power distribution systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create precise electrical design deliverables for diverse projects, including one-line diagrams, control schematics, comprehensive submittal packages, and accurate bills of materials.
  2. Confirm the accuracy of project materials quoted to customers, meticulously reviewing vendor bid packages and submittals for technical precision.
  3. Perform detailed branch circuit and feeder calculations on power distribution equipment, expertly specifying and sizing components to meet design requirements.
  4. Partner with the Production, Procurement, Project Management, and Sales teams to drive continuous improvement opportunities across the product lifecycle.
  5. Read, understand, and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Solid knowledge of the design, building, and maintenance of low voltage (600 volts and below) power distribution systems
  • Solid knowledge of low voltage controls systems, and the ability to specify hardware and components to meet design requirements
  • Solid knowledge of Office-based software and electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) for designing and documenting electrical schematics and power distribution systems
  • Solid skills in developing and maintaining effective work relationships with production personnel, wiring technicians, and building electricians
  • Solid skills working with, and knowledge of the use of electrical test equipment

Nice to have

  • Experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and comprehensive documentation
  • Experience with programmable devices in the area of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motion-control, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and instrumentation
