Boeing is seeking an Electrical Engineer and Systems Architect (Senior or Lead) in Huntington Beach, CA, to join their Maritime & Terrestrial Electrical & Electronic Solutions team. The role involves designing, integrating, and testing electrical/electronic systems for autonomous unmanned undersea vehicles (XLUUVs) and intelligence systems. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, developing architectures, selecting components, supporting suppliers, leading hardware design verification, troubleshooting systems, resolving complex issues, investigating emerging technologies, and leading proposal efforts. Requires a Secret U.S. Security Clearance and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field with 5-8+ years of experience in electrical/electronic systems architecture.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various Intelligence Systems and maritime electronic products, including requirements, interface, and electronic system architecture definitions
  2. Develop designs consistent with requirements and specifications, including appropriate component selections, circuit designs, and supporting modeling and analysis
  3. Support Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services
  4. Lead electronics hardware design verification through various methods of review, testing, and analysis. Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  5. Support fabrication, maintenance, and troubleshooting of maritime undersea electronic and electromechanical systems, such as XLUUVs, payloads, and other Intelligence Systems solutions, including hands-on leadership to troubleshoot hardware and test setups using schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc

Required

  • Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent
  • 5+ years of related work experience (Level 4)
  • 8+ years of experience in developing complex architectures for electronic and electrical systems
