What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in design meetings for electrical systems in new data center builds and expansions, providing input from an electrical engineering perspective under supervision.
  2. Assist in conducting feasibility studies and developing specifications for system components.
  3. Support the design and construction process, including permitting, under the guidance of licensed engineers.
  4. Support the installation of power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, cooling units, and other critical infrastructure.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Standards), safety regulations, and company policies, with oversight from senior engineers.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of data center electrical systems (transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems)
  • Proficient with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SKM
  • Interest in project management and supporting large-scale data center projects
