What you'd actually do

  1. Manage electrical engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept and basic engineering through detailed design, installation, commissioning, and final acceptance
  2. Plan, design, and engineer electrical systems for power generation applications, ensuring solutions meet project requirements, customer expectations, and industry standards
  3. Develop electrical and control system concepts, including medium- and low-voltage systems, power distribution, protection systems, and control technologies
  4. Prepare and review electrical documentation such as circuit diagrams, technical specifications, load calculations, cable sizing, and protection coordination studies
  5. Ensure all engineering deliverables are accurate, compliant with regulations, and aligned with project timelines and quality standards

Skills

Required

  • Several years of experience designing and engineering electrical systems within industrial, power generation, marine, or large-scale plant environments
  • Strong expertise in medium- and low-voltage systems, electrical protection, power distribution, and international standards such as IEC and VDE
  • Proven capability in performing electrical calculations, developing system designs, and managing comprehensive engineering documentation
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software for electrical design and documentation.
  • A structured, independent, and solution-driven approach, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail in complex engineering environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a willingness to travel internationally (~20%) to support global project execution.
  • Proficiency both in English and in German (spoken and written)

Nice to have

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
  • Hands-on experience with automation and control systems for marine engines, including knowledge of bus communication (e.g., Modbus RTU/TCP, CANbus) and control engineering principles
