Carbon Robotics is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their Edge Compute team to design and manage the distributed computing infrastructure for their robots. This role involves specification, design, vendor management, integration, and thermal/electrical management of compute and network clusters, ensuring performance in harsh farm environments. The engineer will also lead hardware testing, interface with vendors, and troubleshoot field failures.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the specification, design/selection, qualification and integration of high-performance compute and network modules.
  2. Lead testing of compute and networking hardware through environmental, power quality, and EMI/EMC qualification campaigns.
  3. Interface with hardware vendors to source components, define assembly work instructions, and ensure quality of compute assemblies.
  4. Quickly prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate solutions for electrical signaling issues, PCIe/USB/Ethernet bottlenecks, and hardware-level failures in the field
