Electrical Engineer, Hardware & Systems, Optimus

Tesla Tesla · Auto · Palo Alto, CA · Tesla AI

Electrical Engineer for Tesla's Optimus robot program, focusing on power and communication transfer hardware. Responsibilities include full hardware lifecycle support, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and owning electrical architecture for low-voltage systems. Requires experience in circuit design, PCBA, communication protocols, and taking projects from concept to production.

What you'd actually do

  1. Start-to-finish hardware definition and design support: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards
  2. Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, robot and motor controls, PCB layout, EMC, and validation teams on the design of world leading robotic electrical hardware
  3. Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc.
  4. Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time
  5. Design for manufacturing, design for test and design for EMC
