Electrical Engineer Level 2 to support GMD Weapon System (GWS) Hardware Engineering team's design efforts working within an Agile environment. Core tasks include developing and maintaining Electrical drawings for multiple Ground Systems (GS) hardware systems and their interfaces with facilities. Responsibilities include developing rack/system level drawings, maintaining drawings in a PLM system, and documenting progress. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in STEM, 2 years of experience with CAD packages, and experience in electrical/power system design, network communication system design, or cable harness fabrication design. Must have an active Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Under the direction of your program leadership, responsibilities include performing analyses IAW industry and military standards.
  2. Develop design drawings, maintaining drawings, evaluating hardware design efforts, scheduling, and planning required tasks.
  3. Accountability and active participation in team meetings and internal/external demos, and documenting progress on team dashboards is expected.
  4. Generate engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test reports.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance
  • Ability to communicate data in a clear and concise manner
  • 2 years of recent professional experience using a CAD Package
  • Experience in electrical/power system design
  • Experience in network communication system design
  • Experience in cable harness fabrication design
  • Experience performing electrical load analysis
  • Understanding and application of industry and company electrical engineering technical standards and procedures
  • Demonstrated electrical component design experience
  • Impact assessment / trade studies development
  • Prior experience with engineering PLM systems
  • Prior experience with MRP systems

Nice to have

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, TEMPEST 01-13, NEC
  • Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Visio or other architecture modeling tools
  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents
