Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Design & Analysis) – Level 5 to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program. This role involves developing electrical analysis products for hardware, supporting design and development of GWS capability for the Missile Defense Agency. Responsibilities include reviewing supplier documentation, developing modeling solutions, conducting trade studies, performing electrical analysis for various system levels, managing electrical interfaces, and verifying electrical connectivity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review suppliers "as-planned", "as-designed", and "as-built" documentation (e.g. interface control document, derating analysis, worst case analysis, qualification test plan and procedure, acceptance test plan and procedure, test report).
  2. Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies and evaluation of system and subsystem performance
  3. Frequently collaborate with technical leadership on system requirements generation and associated flow down, subsystem design/analysis, and subsystem performance verification including lab and flight testing
  4. Perform the test design process along with the design, analysis and fabrication of specialty test equipment required for environmental testing and handling
  5. Performs analyses to evaluate all levels of the system to ensure a cohesive electrical-system solution throughout the development lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience
  • Extensive Electrical Engineering background with an understanding of analog and digital electronics, power systems, Command and Data Handling, Signal Integrity, and Grounding schema
  • Experience executing specialized electrical engineering analysis (Sneak Circuit, Worst Case, Bent Pin, Power/Grounding, Derating, and Electrical Stress analysis)
  • Technical experience in systems engineering and/or integration execution
  • Strong electrical engineering design and analysis skills
